AZERAI — La Residence Hue

AZERAI — La Residence Hue

Hue, Vietnam

Ideally located opposite the Imperial Palace, along the quiet banks of the Perfume River, the hotel boasts outstanding views of both the Ancient Citadel and the Forbidden City. It was built around the renovated 1910 Art Deco 'Residence Superieure de L'Annan'. At that time, it was the administrative centre of the French rule in central Vietnam, during the colonial era. The hotel has an Art Deco-inspired design of the 1920s and 1950s.

The rooms have every modern convenience, and some have private balconies. It is definitely worth opting for a room offering a river view, however, these are limited and extremely popular.

The hotel has a full range of amenities, including a riverside restaurant 'Le Parfum', serving creative Asian, Vietnamese and European flavours, an outdoor saltwater swimming pool and an extensive spa offering a complete range of treatments.

OUR OPINION:

One of our favourites within all of Vietnam for its class, decor and high standard of service and facilities. Exuding charm and personality, it offers everything to keep its guests happy, including the most incredible reflexology massages.

Rooms

There are six different categories of room. The Superior and Superior River Room are very similar in finish and size but the views are differing. The same goes for the Deluxe and the Deluxe River. These are bigger than the Superior options and have a private living area. The Deluxe Colonial rooms are in a different style as they are located in the old governors’ residence, they do not have a private balcony or terrace. There are three different suite options too — the Colonial Junior suite, the Colonial suite and the Resident suite. These are much bigger and have differing view options.

Location

The hotel is located close to the main tourist attractions of Hue and a number of riverside parks, which make for a lovely stroll. For those looking to venture outside the hotel complex in the evening, you might want to arrange a taxi with the helpful staff at the front desk as it can take around half an hour to walk to the where the restaurants are.

Food and drink

The hotel offers the spectacular ‘Le Parfum’ restaurant with a large choice of Western and Asian options always finished very artistically. Le Parfum is also the setting for the vast daily breakfast buffet. Le Gouverneur Bar is a fantastic spot for an early evening apéritif, you’ll feel transported back in time as you sit among the Art Deco details.

Families

Connecting rooms, babysitting services and the large outdoor pool make this hotel ideally suited for families.

Facilities and activities

AZERAI — La Residence Hue has a number of facilities including a saltwater pool, a spa, gym and tennis court. There is a study/library for guests to relax in and free Wi-Fi, as well as a babysitting service which may be useful for families. There is also a shop selling Vietnamese clothes and art.

Accessibility

The hotel is easily accessible for people in wheelchairs and also has lifts.
