Hotel Palacio de Santa Paula

Hotel Palacio de Santa Paula

Granada, Spain

Located halfway down Granada’s central Gran Vía boulevard, the Hotel Palacio de Santa Paula takes its name from the convent that now forms the heart of the hotel. The building retains much of its original character, with a cobbled courtyard centered around a fountain and many details that celebrate the city’s rich Moorish history.

The 74 rooms are divided between the cloisters, an old Moorish house and a newer block overlooking the street. All feature dark wooden floors and modern furniture, with classic touches such as orange- and yellow-shuttered windows. Each room has an espresso machine and kettle, as well as air conditioning and complimentary Wi-Fi.

The main restaurant, El Claustro, located off the central courtyard, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring traditional Spanish and Andalusian fare. There’s also a small bar, which opens onto the courtyard in the summer. You can also take advantage of the hotel’s small gym, sauna and Turkish bath.

OUR OPINION:

Comfortable and characterful, the Hotel Palacio de Santa Paula is a historic gem in the heart of Granada. We love the understated charm and its peaceful central courtyard.
