Skeabost Hotel, Isle of Skye

Skeabost Hotel

Isle of Skye, The UK

Situated on the shores of Loch Snizort Beag, a 15-minute drive from Portree, the Skeabost Hotel offers a warm and comfortable retreat. The hotel has two lounges where you can curl up in front of the fire with a whisky in elegant yet relaxed surrounds.

Bedrooms have grand, dark wooden furniture and are decorated in traditionally Scottish grays and purples. Food is served in the casual setting of the restaurant adjacent to the bar or, in summer, in the larger dining room overlooking the loch.

The River Snizort runs past the Skeabost and is an excellent place to fish for salmon with the hotel’s ghillie (hunting and fishing attendant). You can also play golf on the hotel’s small, lochside nine-hole course.

OUR OPINION:

A beautiful retreat, centrally located on Skye with some of the island’s most beautiful scenery only a short drive away.

OUR RATING: First Class

Superior rooms have four-poster beds and garden rooms have their own decking area with outdoor seating. All rooms feature a TV and complimentary Wi-Fi.

There’s an extensive à la carte menu for dinner, which can be served in the relaxed restaurant room or in the large dining room that looks out across the gardens toward the loch. Afternoon tea is served in both hotel lounges.
