Reached from Caticlan on the northern tip of Panay, Boracay is the best-known island in the Philippines.

Famed for its stunning four-kilometer White Beach, it is a popular destination for weekending visitors from Manila and has a wide choice of hotels, resorts, restaurants and bars.

Activities

Activities on offer include a Mandala spa and a golf course and there are countless diving and snorkeling opportunities, but it is also easy to spend your time here doing nothing very much.

Neighboring islands

If you fancy a change of scene, you can take a boat across to one of the neighboring islands, such as Romblon, Carabao or Tablas.

There are also some simple accommodation options on these islands if you really want to escape the crowds for a night or two.
