Hospes Palacio del Bailío

Hospes Palacio del Bailío

Córdoba, Spain

Combining modern refinement with historic grandeur, the Hotel Hospes Palacio del Bailío provides an elegant place to stay in Córdoba. Set in a former 16th-century palace, you can still see the ruins of a Roman villa through the glass floor in the courtyard. The palace’s original grandeur is showcased in the grand marble lobby and corridors, though featuring subtle modern design elements such as quirky light fixtures.

The 53 rooms maintain the building’s historic nature — each is decorated with original stone fixtures or period art, while at the same time offering comfortable, modern furniture and large marble bathrooms. Beyond the rooms, you’ll find open patios that connect the three buildings of the hotel, offering relaxing places to sit and enjoy a drink, with one courtyard hosting a small pool and pretty garden space. There is also a small underground spa.

The hotel has two on-site dining options — a casual tapas bar and an elegant restaurant that serves a selection of tasting menus.

Though not the most centrally located, the hotel is about a 15-minute walk from La Mezquita.

OUR OPINION:

An elegant and historic option, we find the Hospes Palacio del Bailío to be the ideal option for a refined stay. While a little further away from the main sights in the city, the level of service and beautiful surrounds of the hotel more than make up for this.
