Amakhala Woodbury Lodge

Amakhala Game Reserve, South Africa

Amakhala is a collection of four game lodges still owned by the same families of English settlers who arrived in this part of the world over 150 years ago. The reserve encompasses spectacular scenery around the meandering Bushman's River, with its surrounding cliffs and rolling plains.

The reserve provides superb game viewing with all of the 'Big Five' present. Cheetah and elephant sightings can be especially memorable here. In addition, there are vast herds of antelope, wildebeest and giraffe and the birdlife is prolific. An added bonus is that the Eastern Cape is malaria-free.

Woodbury Lodge consists of seven spacious rooms; each a thatched chalet with en suite bathroom, air-conditioning and a private deck. The rooms have a traditional African feel giving an authentic safari experience, and the lodge is set on the side of a hill, with stunning views across the reserve. The staff are extremely friendly and you will receive a very warm welcome at Woodbury Lodge.
