Royal Mansour Marrakesh

Royal Mansour Marrakesh

Marrakesh, Morocco

Opened in 2010, the Royal Mansour was commissioned by King Mohammed VI of Morocco as a symbol of luxury and local craftsmanship. The hotel was designed to resemble a traditional medina (walled city), with winding alleys and hidden passages connecting its various parts. The Royal Mansour Hotel is renowned for its opulent and traditional Moroccan architecture and design. The style reflects a harmonious blend of Moorish and Andalusian influences, featuring intricate tile work, ornate wood carvings, and lavish furnishings. The hotel's interiors are adorned with rich fabrics, handcrafted furniture, and beautiful Moroccan lanterns, creating a palatial atmosphere. At the Royal Mansour, the traditional concept of a hotel room has been replaced with private, self-contained riads, set across several floors. Each riad boasts private roof terraces with a private plunge pool and wonderful views across the old city and out to the High Atlas Mountains. In addition to four world class restaurants offering international cuisine, the Royal Mansour also features a spa, fitness centre, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The hotel also provides personalised services such as private butlers.

OUR OPINION:

Rooms

One of the unique features of the Royal Mansour is its accommodation in private riads (traditional Moroccan houses with interior courtyards). Each riad at the hotel is a self-contained luxury residence spread over multiple levels, featuring a private courtyard, plunge pool, and rooftop terrace. The riads are exquisitely decorated with Moroccan furnishings and offer the utmost privacy and exclusivity. Riads range from the luxurious 140 sq m superior riad, with its private rooftop terrace and plunge pool, to the supreme Grand riad which covers 1,800 sq m and boasts four bedrooms, a large private pool, butler, and private garden.

Location

The Royal Mansour is located in the heart of Marrakesh, just a short walk from the historic Djemaa El Fna square. Set across 20 acres, the hotel has been designed to resemble Marrakesh’s old city, with its winding, narrow alleyways. Despite the hotel encompassing a large area, the riads and facilities are no more than a five- or ten-minute walk away. There are buggies to help you get around should you need assistance.

Food and drink

  • Breakfast is served daily in the dining room or outside on the terrace.
  • Dinner can be pre-booked in advance and served on the terrace or in the dining room. Food is prepared using organic ingredients from the nearby farms.
