Long known to the surf community for its long left hander, the villages around Medewi are made up of fishers and farmers that have ample produce on land and in the water to make this a buzzing little area.

Although the main coastal road is always busy with traffic heading to/from Java, the side roads are mercifully quiet and you are likely to see a very different side to the island than the southern beaches or Ubud.
