El Convento Boutique Hotel

El Convento is a colonial-style property with just 26 beautifully decorated air-conditioned suites, with TVs and rainforest showers.

Most ground floor rooms have their own small private terrace and walled fountain making it the perfect place to relax after a busy day exploring this exquisite colonial city. The hotel is located within a short walk of the central plaza and nearby is the 18th century Capuchin Convent so is a great base from which to independently explore the city.

The hotel also has an excellent restaurant called 'Sitz' which serves contemporary food using local produce based on traditional Guatemalan dishes either in the restaurant itself or up on the hotel's roof terrace in front of the log fire, although service can be slow. There is a small pool in the hotel garden around which the suites are located and they have an excellent masseuse who offers massage in the privacy of your room.
