Selinda Camp

Selinda Camp is stunningly located on a palm island next to the Selinda Spillway, with views of wide open floodplains, grey termite mounds and palm trees in the distance. It was rebuilt and refurbished a few years ago, bringing the camp up to an extremely high standard of luxury and comfort.

The nine luxury safari tents are raised up off the ground on polished wooden floors under high thatch roofs. Each has comfortable double or twin beds with fine linens, ceiling fans to keep you cool in the hotter seasons and dark wood furniture collected from around the world. The spacious en suite bathrooms boast huge stone baths and lovely open showers with brass fittings. Sliding doors allow for privacy or create an open-air bathroom feel as required. A large private veranda in front of the tent allows guests to relax and enjoy the views from camp, where wildlife surrounds you.

The main lodge has a lounge and raised thatched dining area that overlooks the floodplains and the Spillway. There is a raised deck for evening meals under the stars and a well stocked wine cellar. Above the cellar is a quiet reading area where guests can retire to read from the library and to enjoy the fine art selection of Beverly Joubert's images, collected over the years of her work with National Geographic. Outside, the camp's plunge pool is surrounded by lush grass and is an ideal place to cool off on a hot afternoon.

Activities include morning and evening game drives, walks in the surrounding area, boat rides and fishing. Afternoon drives often explore the Zibadianja Lagoon and Linyanti River. There are excellent game densities and wide open plains in the area, so you are likely to enjoy some outstanding sightings.
