Cruise Ships in Antarctica : Ultramarine

All the polar expedition cruise vessels we use are in a class of their own, but even among them, Ultramarine stands out. A 199-passenger ship equipped with the latest technology aimed at reducing its impact on the environment, it has an array of features and facilities designed to enhance the way you experience the extreme landscapes of the poles.

Weather-permitting, you’ll have the chance to explore via twin-engine helicopter (there are two on board), while a water-level Zodiac hangar enables you to disembark quickly to take advantage of wildlife sightings (on average, you’re able to disembark twice as fast, compared to similar vessels). There’s also a wraparound viewing deck and, if conditions allow, you could have the opportunity to kayak and camp overnight in Antarctica.

Inside, there’s a huge choice of cabins, many with private balconies, as well as two restaurants and a state-of-the-art auditorium, where you can attend presentations by the expedition leaders.

Cabins

There are 102 cabins, all with en suite bathrooms, heated floors, and windows, and there are many categories to choose from. Over half of all cabins have balconies, and options range from Solo Panorama cabins for single passengers to the cavernous Owner’s Suite and Ultra Suite. Some cabins can accommodate families or larger groups, including the Triple Explorers, Balcony Suites, and Terrace Suites.
